Fast Catamaran Ferries Make Debut. 52 to 85 feet, two hulls and up to 60 knots! Sail, Yacht, or Transport, your choice!

Tacoma, WA June 2, 2004--Kitsap Catamarans is a newcomer in the high-tech composite catamaran design and manufacturing industry. Backed by the founder's 15 years of custom yacht and military boat building experience, and a seasoned crew, the company is excited to now offer 3 high-performance US built boats which carry USCG certification and are constructed to ABS scantlings: the Sunchaser sail-cat, the Sunchaser power-cat and a high-speed commercial transportation ferry which will carry 149 passengers at 41 knots with almost no wake.

It is hard to imagine so many innovations blended into one product offering but Kitsap Cats has brought together several advanced technologies and construction methods to build the most efficient high-performance boats available today, offered as the Sunchaser line. Attributes setting these boats far ahead of the competition include the advanced epoxy construction methods, low weight, strength & durability, high-performance and, believe it or not, low fuel consumption!

Constructed with Corecell high-performance cores and fiberglass, or Kevlar. All parts are infused with 100% Epoxy using a new vacuum infusion system which introduces epoxy under 28 inches of vacuum. This technology produces incredibly strong, light, and uniform parts, which are completely saturated with no possibility of voids or air pockets. New lift technologies designed into the hulls offer increased performance and reduced fuel consumption. The boats weigh 50% less than competitive vessels while being stronger and more durable.

Both Sunchaser power-cat models can be equipped with standard diesels or turbines and a super efficient diesel-electric propulsion system will be available soon.

Currently two lengths are being produced, 65'x 36' or 85'x41' and 52 and 58 foot versions are available.

Sunchaser Cats can be configured for either commercial or private use and basic construction time is six months pending interior and options.
